The “City of Punta Gorda Golf Championship” is an organization with a fund managed by The Charlotte Community Foundation. Created 4 years ago, the committee organizes a yearly golf tournament from which funds are distributed to nonprofits.

With special thanks to this year’s Platinum Sponsor, Gene Gorman’s Family of Automobiles, the Championship, held on Jan. 31 – Feb 1, was a great event and raised more than $12,000. This year, donations will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Punta Gorda nonprofits Peace River Wildlife Center, Visual Arts Center, Military Heritage Museum, Punta Gorda Historical Society, Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity, Friends of the Punta Gorda Library, Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies (C.A.R.E.), and the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Punta Gorda. Managed by The Charlotte Community Foundation, Punta Gorda Golf Championship has dispensed more than $43,000 in the past 4 years.

4th Annual Punta Gorda Amateur Golf Championship raised more than $12,000 to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and eight local Punta Gorda nonprofit organizations.
