On Saturday, April 20, 2019, the Charlotte Community Foundation hosted “Beyond the Looking Glass: A Night of Philanthropy”, presented by Hurricane Charley’s and The Caterer at Laishley Park. The evening was enchanted, and included experiences from local nonprofit organizations, entertainment and an exquisite dinner provided by The Caterer.
Eleven nonprofits from Charlotte County provided an educational evening for donors and supporters of the Charlotte Community Foundation. The nonprofits that participated had the opportunity to showcase their programs that were funded by CCF through their 2018 Community Investment Grant process. In 2018, CCF awarded $92,500 in grant money to 15 local nonprofit organizations to help Charlotte County with music education, reading initiatives, wildlife medical needs, veterans and homelessness, just to name a few beneficiaries.
“Our intent for the evening is that everyone will leave with something they learned about each of the amazing nonprofit organizations represented tonight” stated Justin Brand, Director of Community Engagement.
In 2019, the Charlotte Community Foundation anticipates an increase in the amount of funds to be distributed. That will enable more local nonprofit organizations to help create a better community.
“Tonight was an incredible rebirth for the Charlotte Community Foundation”, stated Lew Bennett, Board Chair. “The Charlotte Community Foundation is on an upward swing and tonight has showcased the positive impact that CCF has on Charlotte County.”
