Punta Gorda, FL, January 31, 2017 – The Charlotte Community Foundation announced today a $100,000 anonymous donation has been made to the Foundation’s Community Fund.
“The Charlotte Community Foundation is pleased to announce the receipt of this very generous donation,” said Mary Byrski, Foundation Board Chair. “Our Community Fund is the most flexible way to respond to Charlotte County’s most urgent needs. It allows the Foundation to determine where and when the gift will have the most effect in the community and positively impact the quality of life for local residents – now and in the future.”
Monies from the donation will be distributed over the next five to seven years. Funds will focus on providing assistance to community members as identified through nonprofit agency communications, the Foundation’s annual grant program, or as needs are identified within the community.
“The donors, who wish to remain anonymous, stated that they have been very blessed throughout the years and wanted to give back by providing a ‘hand up’ to those in need in our community,” explained Tami Sender, Foundation CEO. “The Foundation is thrilled that we will be able to increase our support of local nonprofits to help them aid Charlotte County families and individuals.”
The Charlotte Community Foundation provides personalized donor services to assist individuals, families and businesses in establishing charitable funds that provide grants, education, resources and support for nonprofits, locally or across the United States.
