Making a Difference in Our Community
Community Investments encompass the areas of grants and scholarships, as well as nonprofit training and support. Our donors make it possible for the Charlotte Community Foundation to provide these programs that enhance the quality of life for all Charlotte County residents – from Punta Gorda, to Port Charlotte, and to Englewood.
Throughout the year, we award grants – through donor funds, grant-making, and our own initiatives. The Charlotte Community Foundation supports organizations and charitable projects that are specified by donors as causes that matter to them. Through our grant-making, we fund programs proposed by local nonprofits that will have the greatest positive impact on our community. We also champion special initiatives that will help make our community a better place to live.
Scholarships are awarded each year to deserving students because our donors know an investment in education, is an investment in our community’s future. Through these scholarships, students are able to further their education, given a chance to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise might not be available to them.
CCF also offers leadership, training, and support to our nonprofits to help them achieve their goals. We collaborate with local organizations to ensure that charitable dollars invested with them will have an even bigger impact. The Virginia B Andes Training and Education Center serves as the hub for hundreds of meetings and workshops that bring stakeholders together to learn, prosper, and grow.
