The Charlotte County Homeless Coalition leads the drive to help individuals and families in need — whether they are chronically homeless or families and individuals hit hard during the Great Recession and foreclosure crisis.

A recent grant from the Charlotte Community Foundation helped the Coalition buy new beds for its Safe House Emergency Shelter, a 52-bed general population shelter that has a special focus on families. As the only shelter available in Charlotte County, it provides a safe, supervised place for clients to stay for up to 60 days.
