Merry Bise joined the Charlotte Community Foundation in 2016. Merry was born in Illinois, was raised in both Ohio and Illinois, and moved to Alabama where she earned her Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Montevallo. Merry retired after 24 years of service with Vulcan Materials. She held many positions in the computer and information technology field as well as employee training and development, which lead her to her final position as Manager of IT and Employee Training.
In 2014 Merry and her husband, Dave, were visiting family in Southwest Florida, ended up at a local Punta Gorda Restaurant overlooking the harbor, and said, “wouldn’t this be a neat place to visit?” They spent the month of December 2015 at a vacation rental and within six months she, Dave and their fur babies Max, a tri-mix puppy dog, and Brie Marie, a good southern girl kitty moved to the Punta Gorda area.
Merry decided she didn’t want to be retired full-time and accepted a part-time position as Administrative Assistant in October 2016. She became the glue to the Foundation offering assistance to staff, volunteers, donors, and our community as a whole. In August 2018, Merry was named Office Administrator for the Foundation.
When she isn’t busy at CCF you can find her working in her garden (she holds the title of an Alabama Master Gardner) and experimenting with new recipes with Dave.
