Suncoast Humane Society receives $11,908.59 from the Lillian J. Adams Fund for Animal Welfare

Lillian Adams passed away in 2011 but her legacy lives on in yearly disbursements from the Lillian J. Adams Fund for Animal Welfare held at the Charlotte Community Foundation.  Lillian’s love of animals led her to set up a fund upon her passing to benefit animal welfare in perpetuity.

Every year, Suncoast Humane Society receives one-third of a 4% distribution from the fund.   This year, Charlotte Community Foundation is thrilled to award to Suncoast Humane Society a check in the amount of $11,908.59.   Suncoast Humane Society encourages the humane treatment of dogs and cats and responsible ownership.  Suncoast Humane Society provides low-cost spay/neuter and adoption services.

Charlotte Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter throughout Charlotte County.  So far in 2016, more than $760,000 in grants have been awarded to support nonprofit organizations.  For more information on how you can establish a donor advised fund, or create a legacy fund through your will or estate plan, please contact Tami Sender, CEO at 941-637-0077.
