Give/Create A Fund

You can start a fund now (and add to it with an estate gift)—or plan to give in the future through your will, trust, and retirement account beneficiary plans. We customize options to accomplish your goals after a free, no-obligation conversation.

GIVE

Through current and future giving, you can make a lasting impact on our community.

Especially if you want to support favorite charities, if you have a private foundation, if you have appreciated assets like stocks or real estate, or if you want to give anonymously, there is a CCF fund option that is right for you!

You can create or contribute to any fund type at CCF, except donor-advised funds, through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA. A QCD allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total per individual ($210K per couple) to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions (RMDs). Because QCDs don’t increase taxable income, both higher tax rates and phaseouts can be avoided.

You can leave a legacy!

Through planning, you likely can give a gift through your will, trust, retirement plans or insurance plans—even if you’ve not been able to give during your lifetime. Some people call legacy gifts “major gifts for the middle class”!

If you want to ensure continued support for your favorite charities or if you want to give a gift that is responsive to the community you love and its changing needs in years to come, talk with us about how we may document your intentions to give you peace of mind.

CCF Fund Types

UNRESTRICTED FUND (Starting at $5K)

Also known as a community impact fund, this fund is pooled with others to provide funding and flexibility for addressing our community’s changing needs over time. A committee comprising community members determines grantees from a competitive process

FIELD-OF-INTEREST FUNDS

Also administered through CCF’s grantmaking process, donors designate a specific cause (e.g., early childhood) or a broad area of interest (e.g., arts & culture) they wish to support. CCF then has the flexibility to award grants to local organizations and programs making a difference in that area.

DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS

Donors recommend grants to their favorite nonprofits and can leverage our local knowledge to maximize impact.

NONPROFIT FUNDS

These can be set up by a donor (for ongoing support of their favorite organization) or a nonprofit itself for a diversified revenue source. Consider “annuitizing your giving” now or through your estate plan so an annual check is sent to your beloved nonprofit forever!

CCF can host an endowment fund for any nonprofit, including schools and churches. We currently have nonprofit endowment funds for several local organizations, including:

We also have SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS for traditional age or returning adult students pursuing post-secondary education and training.

Like most foundations, CCF uses a 5% payout as a guideline. CCF configures the grant/scholarship distribution from this, with an administrative fee that provides support for sustainable impact, investment management, and effective grantmaking and scholarship administration.
