CCF As Your Resource

We want the Charlotte Community Foundation (CCF) to be a resource for you as a professional advisor in addressing the tax needs and charitable interests of your clients. Below is an overview of CCF and links to common information you may need.

We also have extensive new resources for you to stay informed of changing laws and policies regarding philanthropy—see the Advisor Resources page!

CCF is the only community foundation dedicated solely to Charlotte County, FL. For clients who care about their local community, we can ensure their philanthropy is focused here.

For clients interested in multiple causes or nonprofits, we can provide a simple and easy one-stop solution. Your clients can also give anonymously, an attractive option for those who want to maintain a low profile, especially in a smaller community.

Our CEO, Dr. Shelley Strickland (sstrickland@charlottecf.org), has years of experience working with all types of advisors on current and testamentary gifts, including the conversion of significant family foundations.

The Charlotte Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax-deductible: EIN: 65-0455319.

Originally incorporated as and receiving IRS determination of tax-exempt (nonprofit) status in 1995 as the Charlotte County Foundation, the foundation articles of incorporation were amended in 2004 as the Charlotte Community Foundation.

CCF is classified as a public charity under sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The Council on Foundations has determined that our organization is in full compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations. This accreditation can provide assurance to the public that CCF maintains the highest of standards in administration of our organization.

CCF is also planning to hold periodic gatherings for local advisors–estate planning attorneys, accountants, financial planners, wealth managers, and trust officers alike–on charitable giving. We know you are busy and philanthropy is not your daily business–it’s ours and we want to be a resource!

We held this inaugural CCF Advisor Event in Summer 2024.
